I have been fully trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy or "EFT".  This approach has a proven track record of success with couples in distress.  Couples therapy requires a little more patience as it is a process with getting to know each person’s concerns, attachment style, and family of origin influences.

When a couple comes into therapy, they have generally been trying to solve their own problems for quite sometime. Often couples seek assistance with their relationship when life together has gotten unbearable and couples therapy is a last resort. 

It is very important that each member of the couple feel respected, heard and supported by the therapist.  The therapist should be even handed with respect to each member of the couple.
